The Global Trade & Technology Center (GTTC) is a City of New York business trade and educational association that fosters dialogue and action between representatives of business and government globally. GTTC has a strong presence globally, so that executives can interact regularly with United States and foreign diplomats, with most programs held in conjunction with the United States’ embassy and/or consulate in country. GTTC was appointed to the New York District Export Council by former President Bill Clinton in January 2000 and was reappointed by President George Bush in January 2004. GTTC’s instructors consist of professional practitioners with industry experience and knowledge from a broad base. GTTC’s intent is to focus on the skill sets that are mandatory and necessary in the industry environment today. GTTC will remain current in its topic offerings to continue to offer real time education for real time business and employment opportunities. All of GTTC’s students who complete the course offerings will be assisted in seeking employment opportunities in the export and import industry anywhere in the United States where there are Ports of Entry. In August 2004, GTTC entered into a Memorandum of Agreement with the United States Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration, United States and Foreign Commercial Service to collocate an office in Harlem, New York. GTTC is a membership organization dedicated to enhancing the success of its member companies and individuals competing in the global marketplace. The scope of the Global Trade and Export Studies course offerings at the various colleges is to elevate the knowledge of each student in the practical concepts of global trade. To avoid theory based formats and focus on industry specific topics that will create skill sets to enable each student to be a valuable asset within the industry of global trade. GTTC created an operational based curriculum that will provide each student with the foundation necessary to elevate throughout managerial levels from a quality platform. GTTC’s accredited courses are taught at the City University of New York, State University of New York, Hudson County Community College of New Jersey and Essex County College of New Jersey.
