Governor Souto will be in New York City where he will appear at a special reception hosted by Sylvia's restaurant to promote business and investment opportunities in the state of Bahia, Brazil.

Mr. Clarence O. Smith, founder of Avocet Travel and co-founder / president emeritus of Essence magazine will speak about the Brazilian Tourism Industry and the Bahian experience. Avocet Travel provides weekly charter service directly from New York to Bahia.

Bahia, widely-known as the birthplace and first capital of Brazil is the third leading tourism destination in Brazil. The state boasts over 620 miles of tropical coastline, 100 tranquil islands and a yearly average temperature of 78 degrees.
